Dr. Pramod Sawant Announces GOA STREET RACE 2025
Goa Achieves Landmark Status as South Asia’s First Oceanfront Circuit for Indian Racing Festival
Kolkata, 10th September 2025: Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, today announced the “Goa Street Race 2025” — a 3.2 km oceanfront circuit at Headland Sada, Bogda — as the official venue for Round 4 of the 2025 Indian Racing Festival (IRF). Announced at a prestigious ceremony at Auditorium 1, Maquinez Palace, ESG, Panjim, Goa – this landmark initiative reflects Dr. Sawant’s visionary leadership in positioning Goa as a premier global destination for high-octane international sporting events. Scheduled from 1–2 November 2025, the race promises to deliver a world-class motorsport spectacle against the state’s iconic coastline while driving economic growth, tourism, and global recognition for the state of Goa.
The landmark announcement was graced by the presence of Asvin Chandru, IAS, CM Secretary and CEO of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG); Shri Sankalp Amonkar, MLA – Mormugao; Shri. Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Secretary – Information & Publicity, Government of Goa; and Mr. Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director of Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL).
The Pinnacle of racing is finally here, at home, in Goa. This historic announcement marks a defining milestone for Indian motorsport, unveiling South Asia’s first oceanfront racetrack along the state’s picturesque coastline. Spanning 3.214 kilometres, this iconic circuit will host a thrilling double-header featuring the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC), building on the momentum of successful race weekends in Coimbatore and Chennai earlier this season. The coastal circuit will push drivers and engineers to their limits, with unpredictable crosswinds, salt-air exposure, and rapid shifts from tight urban turns to sweeping seafront straights – a true test of precision, strategy, and skill.
The Goa Street Race 2025 promises to be a star-studded affair with an impressive line-up of celebrity team owners bringing their charisma and passion for motorsport to the track. Leading the charge is John Abraham with the home team, Goa Aces JA Racing, joined by Arjun Kapoor steering the Speed Demons Delhi, and cricketing legend Sourav Ganguly powering the Kolkata Royal Tigers. Adding to the excitement, Sudeep Kichcha leads Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru, Naga Chaitanya backs the Hyderabad Blackbirds, and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand drives the spirit of Chennai Turbo Riders. Their presence is set to amplify the thrill and glamour of this high-octane event.
The Indian Racing Festival, pioneered by Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL), plays a pivotal role in shaping India’s motorsport future by creating a clear development pathway for young racers, right from entry-level programs to progressive, professional racing tiers.
Through its innovative city-based street racing model, RPPL has steadily expanded the sport’s footprint and ignited a vibrant racing culture across the country.
As RPPL’s third street racing venue after Chennai and Hyderabad, the Goa Street Race reinforces the Indian Racing Festival’s mission to establish India’s first city-based motorsport league. With robust government backing, franchise-driven teams, an international driver line-up, and strong broadcast presence, IRF 2025 positions Goa as the new jewel in India’s racing crown, propelling the nation’s boldest step yet towards a sustainable motorsport ecosystem.
“We are delighted to welcome the Indian Racing Festival to Goa,” said Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa. “The Goa Street Circuit will be South Asia’s first oceanfront racetrack, a milestone that will firmly establish Goa on the global sporting map. The event will boost tourism, create employment, and inspire our youth to explore careers in engineering, technology, and event management. I want to acknowledge the expertise of Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd., the role of the Entertainment Society of Goa, and the cooperation of our government departments, all of whom are working together to ensure this event meets the highest global standards. This is part of our larger vision to position Goa as a hub for international events – capable, confident, and ready to host the world.”, he added.
The mega event will not only showcase world-class racing but also deliver a powerful economic catalyst for Goa. With millions of viewers expected through extensive national and international broadcasts, live streaming, and global media syndication, the Indian Racing Festival is set to place Goa firmly on the global motorsport map.
Beyond the track, the ripple effect will be profound. As South Asia’s first oceanfront street race, the Goa round is expected to attract a diverse audience of motorsport enthusiasts, high-value tourists, corporate partners, and global sponsors. An influx of spectators, teams, sponsors, and technical crews will stimulate tourism, boost hotel occupancy, elevate hospitality, and energize local transport, retail, and event management sectors. The initiative, supported by the Goa Tourism Department, aligns with the state’s vision to attract high-value tourism, generate seasonal employment, and create sustainable infrastructure that can host marquee international sporting events for years to come.
“Goa’s rich heritage, dynamic culture, and stunning coastline provide an iconic stage for a motorsport property of global significance,” said Mr. Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, RPPL. “With the visionary leadership of Dr. Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, we are proud to present South Asia’s first oceanfront street circuit, a bold step that not only redefines India’s motorsport landscape but also positions the nation as a beacon of innovation, world-class experiences, and racing excellence on the international stage.”
